Structure Fire on Carolina Rd.
From a Montgomery County Emergency Services report:
Earlier this evening, Elliston Volunteer Fire Department, Christiansburg Volunteer Fire, and Shawsville Volunteer Rescue Squad were dispatched to a structure fire in the 400 block of Carolina Rd.
Units arrived on scene to find heavy fire coming from a single wide trailer.
Due to the rural location of the fire, a hydrant was not able to be reached. Blacksburg Volunteer Fire Department and Roanoke County Fire & Rescue Department were added to the call to bring additional water.
The fire took approximately 45 minutes to bring under control. One resident was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. There were no other injuries. Unfortunately, the trailer was a total loss, and the Red Cross was contacted to assist the owner.
